ISI offers two basic levels of Trademark and Intellectual Property Infringement Investigations. The Preliminary Initial Investigation provides a basic report of the subject operation, giving you and your legal team documentation to determine if indeed any infringement has occurred. The In-Depth Investigation is usually performed after possible infringement has been identified, to provide additional documentation for Court Proceedings or study by counsel.
Initial Trademark Infringement Investigations
Services provided during a Preliminary Initial Investigation may include any of the following:
- Photographs & Video footage obtainined outside subject location - Property, Area, Buildings, Signs, Etc.
- Obtain any available Literature, Brochures & Business Cards
- Obtain print-outs from any Sales Software available
- Document any Promotional Programs in use
- Conversations with owner and/or employees
- Research of advertising in Local Media and on the Internet
- Background research on subject entity - Local, County, State, and Federal Business Registrations & Licenses
In-depth Trademark Infringement Investigations
During the conduct of an In-depth Trademark Infringement Investigation, services performed may include any of the following:
- Includes Initial Investigation or re-iteration thereof, plus video footage Inside the subject location using hidden cameras
- In depth research of Past Newspaper and Magazine Advertising
- Research of Trade Magazines & JOurnals
- Civil, Criminal & Family Court Background on Owners
- Civil & Criminal Background on Business
- Documentation of Assets held by Business & Owners
- Research into other Businesses in which the Owner may be involved
- Complete History of Registration and License for filings in Court
- Conversations with neighboring businesses and/or residents
Subsequent investigations of the preliminary type are often performed on a regular basis, or as needed to for numerous reasons. These follow-up checks are used to further document possible infringement of Intellectual Property Rights and Trademark Registrations.
